The Green Bay Chapter of the Blue Knights was founded in 1979 by police officers from the cities of Green Bay and DePere. There were 7 officers present at the initial meeting. The meeting was held at the Green Bay Police pistol range clubhouse. In order to form a chapter we needed to elect a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 3 Directors. Everyone at the meeting managed to be elected to an office.

Our meetings: Our regular meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at various locations. (Contact us for a specific month and location.) May thru October we get together the fourth Wednesday of each month for a social night (ex. a leisure ride or a ride to a members house for refreshments).

Participation in charity events: We are the major sponsors of the Etter-Markins Memorial Ride benefiting Special Olympics. This involves design, organization, and implementation of the entire event.

We also assist, in various ways, with the Family Violence (Golden House), Pearly Gates Veteran’s, and Jerry Parin's Cruise for Cancer rides benefiting those organizations.

We assist, by road guarding, with the MDA ride in Green Bay and any other events when requested.

Christmas Party: We get together for a sit-down dinner Christmas Party where socialization is abundant. At the Christmas party we honor Blue Knight and Lady Knight of the year. Which is earned by a vote from the Chapter members. This award honors those who have gone above and beyond in their assistance to make this a great Chapter. There is also a voluntary "High Mileage" Award issued to the member who put the most miles on his or her bike in that year.

We have male and female members and spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend all Chapter functions.

We are always looking for mature, honorable and dedicated people to become members of our Chapter. If you like what you see and want to learn more, please contact us via email at danenelsen@msn.com
